The revised and improved license agreement for the FSC certification system will first be implemented with a pilot phase starting in early second quarter 2020 in Brazil, China, Germany, Russia and the United States, before being extended to other countries later this year. FSC does not encourage the movement of customers between certification bodies, but recognizes that there may be circumstances in which such movement is legitimate and appropriate. In this case, FSC`s objective is to ensure that customers are treated fairly and objectively, while ensuring that the transfer between certification bodies does not become an instrument for customers to circumvent or circumvent their obligations to comply with FSC certification requirements or contractual obligations. TLA is issued by FSC to organizations that have FSC certificates or are applying for certification. While the certificate confirms that the holder manages its operations in accordance with FSC standards, the TLA authorizes the certificate holder to use the logo protected by the FSC mark. The TLA also provides contractual confirmation that the organization meets the FSC certification requirements. The revised TLA aims to respond to new legal developments such as european data protection requirements (GDPR – General Data Protection Regulation), improve the user experience and strengthen the integrity of the FSC system. The new TLA will put in place new measures to combat incorrect claims (unretified materials sold under the guise of certification), including an expanded review of transactions and possible fines for false claims. All these measures will improve the integrity and protection of the FSC system in close collaboration with its stakeholders. In addition, it is released with a new COMPUTER tool allowing a certificate holder to sign and submit the TLA electronically, which reduces paperwork and makes the contract more accessible and faster to manage. This will be a huge improvement over the current system for printing and scanning paper copies. TLA is issued by FSC to organizations that have FSC certificates or are applying for certification. While the certificate confirms that the holder manages its operations in accordance with FSC standards, the TLA authorizes the certificate holder to use fsc`s trademarked logo.
